Project Overview
This thesis was developed as part of Santa Clara University’s Honors Program, a rigorous and highly selective academic track designed for the university’s top-performing students. As part of the program’s capstone requirement, students complete a year-long independent research project under the close mentorship of a faculty advisor. The process culminates in a formal presentation and submission to the Honors Thesis Showcase.
What I Did
My thesis uses economic data to analyze the effects of low-skilled immigration. Through labor market data, demographic modeling, and synthesis of peer-reviewed studies, I analyzed how low-skilled immigrants impact wage structures, labor force composition, and demographic/social stability. This data-driven approach allowed me to challenge common assumptions and present immigration as not only economically beneficial, but essential to America’s future growth.
